The Farm Foodcraft, Bangsar South

We first spotted The Farm Foodcraft while walking through The Sphere one weekend. The entrance is lined with edible greens. The water features in the restaurant are a key part of the ambiance. The place was calling to us, and we decided to visit the following weekend for Bangsar brunch.

What We Loved

As soon as we walked in, we found a table and got drinks a few minutes later. This allowed us to cool down as we went through the menu to decide what we would have. The plan was to have brunch or lunch in Bangsar, whichever we preferred.

I chose orange and carrot juice, which was perfect. Well chilled, sweet enough, and fresh. We had the option of one fruit juice or a combo of two. We were a group of four. The rest opted for red apple + watermelon, and red apple + green apple. No complaints there.

The food was fantastic.

They have an all-day brunch menu that ends at 3 p.m. We could also order a meal from the main menu at any time.

We opted for The Farmer’s Breakfast (on the brunch menu) x 2, Farmer’s grilled free-range chicken, and broccoli quinoa hamburger steak.

The Farmer’s Breakfast was a safe choice, made up of familiar foods. (two free-range eggs, sauteed mixed mushrooms, baked beans, salad, and bread). We also had to choose between turkey ham and beef bacon.

As for the eggs, I opted for scrambled, while my friend opted for poached eggs. We both loved how the eggs were prepared. Everything else on the plate was well done. I will likely choose this again when we next go there.

The portions were filling, and the fact that everything was freshly made was a plus.

The broccoli quinoa hamburger steak is a great choice for vegetarians. It was served with pumpkin-mango puree, greens, and a honey yogurt dip.

The restaurant has an urban farm where it gets most of its produce, harvested and cooked on the same day. This is one of the reasons we opted for This restaurant for lunch in Bangsar.

The service was top-notch.

We received our food within 30 minutes after ordering, and since there was no crowd, we ate at leisure. We were told lunch on weekdays tends to be this way. However, if we had come on the weekend, we may have met more people.

The management has even come up with a system (assigning two hours per table) to ensure customers don’t overstay and deny others a chance to sit and eat lunch in Bangsar.

I guess this makes sense, and we probably wouldn’t have any complaints because two hours is long enough to eat, and even relax for a bit.

We noticed that the set up for large groups to sit together is not sufficient. One group came after us and they had to split into two tables. Understandably, the staff were hesitant to move other guests around to create space for the large group.

When we inquired, we were informed that large groups are rare.

This is one of the reasons they encourage reservations for groups of nine people and more.

We barely had complaints about the food and service. We will be going back whenever we are in Bangsar South.
